THE North West’s five Lib Dem MPs are all backing the Coalition Government’s massive cuts in public services.
Each of the LibDem5 went to the electorate in May 2010 specifically opposing immediate cuts in public services.
Now they support those cuts.
The LibDem5 who back the cuts are: John Leech (Manchester Withington); John Pugh (Southport); Andrew Stunell (Hazel Grove); Gordon Birtwistle (Burnley); Mark Hunter (Cheadle Hulme).
The LibDem5 are voting for policies which will throw thousands of their own constituents out of work in the name of Conservative ideology.
They are voting for Tory policies which will mean the privatisation of the National Health Service and the introduction of a two-tier education system.
They are voting for policies which will mean the decimation of public services across the North West which the public rely on.
The North West TUC is asking the public to protest to the LibDem5 over their cuts in public services which are damaging people’s lives and communities all over the Region. The LibDem5 must be held to account for the Coalition’s policies which they continue to support.

What are we going to do about these cuts though? The Lib Dems can just ignore emails and phone calls. I personally would be prepared to demonstrate outside their constituency offices. Why dont we organise something like that?
Local focus on these ‘infamous 5′ should be supported by national focus on 19th September and a massive show of opposition outside the LibDem Conference at Liverpool Arena as organised by the TUC. Hypocrisy is both individual and collective in this power-grabbing party – this is costing ordinary working people their jobs. Do not leave your opposition to others, come to Liverpool on 19th September!
I think everyone should be letting the Lib Dem MPs know how they feel about what is happening to public services. They are hypocrites for doing this. I for one will never vote Lib Dem again – they are just as bad as the Tories.
