My thanks go to the nurses and all the staff at the intensive care unit at Blackpool in February this year, who saved my pregnant grandaughter’s life when she was in labour five weeks early and had given birth to a premature baby boy. She was given only a one per cent chance of living. But now both mother and son are doing well – neither would be alive today without those public services staff.”
